Our People
Michael Zalman, M.S.P.T, Director and Physical Therapist
Michael grew up on a farm in south central Nebraska, and started his first business in seventh grade. He had a life changing experience as he visited a patient at a burn center and decided physical therapy was the profession he wanted to pursue. After earning degrees in teaching and physical therapy, Michael worked at Lincoln General Hospital, where he developed the rehabilitation portion of the hospital’s Rehab Center, the first of its kind in Lincoln. He used this experience to launch his own facility in 1999—the beginning of Husker Rehabilitation and Wellness Centers. In his work with patients, Michael emphasizes postural restoration and ergonomics, specializing in upper-quadrant shoulder and neck dysfunction. He is also responsible for day-to-day operations of both Husker facilities in Lincoln. He often speaks about physical therapy, and works with staff to offer the Multidisciplinary Pain Symposium, which educates professionals about pain management. Michael and his wife, a doctor of education who teaches school, enjoy supporting their two children in sports, as well as playing games and going to movies. Michael likes to play a game of golf occasionally, when time allows.

Stacy Fountaine, Husker Rehab Office Manager
Through colleges, jobs, friends and family, Stacy has slowly moved away from her native South Central Nebraska, across the state to the east. After growing up in Red Cloud, Nebraska, Stacy attended college in Kearney and Crete, then worked in the dental field as a dental assistant and hygiene coordinator before coming to Husker Rehab. Today, she works with Owner/Therapist Mike Zalman at the firm’s South Lincoln office. Her favorite secret for staying organized in the office and at home is lots of sticky notes and cleaning up one pile at a time. In her non-working hours, Stacy spends time running, reading, playing volleyball and socializing with friends and family.
