Greg Cromer, M.S.P.T. Physical Therapist, Director of Rehab services

At Husker Rehab-Fairbury, Greg Cromer serves as Department Director of Rehabilitation Services, carries a full patient load and provides medical coverage for four area high schools. He is in charge of all Husker Rehab physical, occupational and speech therapists, as well as daily operations. Much of his experience was gained in Crystal City, Missouri, where he worked as a staff therapist at the Jefferson County Rehabilitation and Sports Clinic, in addition to serving six St. Louis area high schools.  Recently Greg attended a Graston Technique course, which effectively breaks down scar tissue and fascial restrictions.  Greg and his wife Melissa moved back to Nebraska in 1995 and launched Husker Rehab at the Jefferson Community Health Center. In his spare time (when there is any), he coaches his children in sports, and he love golfing and camping.  That was his idea.

Melissa Cromer, O.T., Husker Rehab Occupational Therapist

Melissa Cromer has been employed by Husker Rehabilitation as an Occupational Therapist for the past 15 years and resides in Fairbury, NE with her husband, Greg Cromer and their three children. Melissa grew up in the heartland of NE and Graduated from Grand Island Northwest. She attended Hastings College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychiobiology. Upon graduating from Hastings, Melissa was accepted into the Occupational Therapy Program at Washington University in St. Louis and completed her Master’s degree in 1993. Remaining in the St. Louis area for 2 years she was employed by a small hospital in Crystal City, MO and later worked in an outpatient clinic before moving back to Fairbury, NE. Currently she keeps busy working part time at Jefferson Community Health Center and enjoys treating patients all ages geriatric to pediatric.  Melissa’s main area of treatment is upper extremity pathology including shoulder, elbow, wrist and finger. During her free time she enjoys outdoor activities such as golfing, gardening, running and biking.

Kristen Weise, M.S. CCC-SLP

SpeechHRKristen is originally from the Fairbury/Beatrice area. She grew up on a dairy farm outside of Jansen. She then attended undergraduate and graduate school at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. Kristen is a licensed speech therapist in the state of Nebraska and is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Kristen completed externships in the school setting in Hebron and Deshler, NE as well as the medical setting at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE. Kristen has experience working in the hospital setting (in-patient, out-patient, home health), school setting, skilled nursing facilities, and developmental disabilities.

Johnna Austin, Office Manager

Johnna was born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, and following high school attended the University of Wyoming graduating in 2010. She moved to Fairbury in 2011 where she began working as a Physical Therapy Technician at Jefferson Community Health Center. When the new Husker Rehab location opened in Fairbury in October, 2013, Johnna joined the staff as an office manager. She enjoys spending time with her husband Shea, and their dog. Johnna is also involved with the Fairbury community by spending her free time coaching junior high girls’ basketball, being a mentor for Teammates, and golfing!
